Rob Normandeau - President
Rob is responsible for identifying investment opportunities, executing transactions and working with companies in which SeaFort is invested to maximize shareholder value.
Rob previously served as President & CEO of a TSX-listed investment company. Prior to that, he practiced law in the Toronto office of a major New York-based law firm, where he specialized in corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions. Rob was recognized in 2009 as one of Canada’s Top 40 Under 40 and is a member of Young President’s Organization (YPO). He is a director of Canada’s Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (CVCA) and Rocky Mountain Liquor Inc. (TSXV: RUM). Previously, he served as a director of the IWK Children’s Hospital Foundation and seven separate TSX-listed businesses.
Rob holds a Bachelor of Arts degree (Scholar’s Electives) from the University of Western Ontario, a Master’s of Business Administration degree with a specialization in finance from the University of Toronto, and a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Toronto. He is admitted to the practice of law in Ontario, Nova Scotia and New York.
Matthew Towns – Vice President
Matthew Towns is Vice President of SeaFort Capital. He was previously Vice President Investments at a publicly traded investment company and has worked in equity research at RBC Capital Markets and at Imperial Oil Limited in various roles including treasury, risk management and business development. Matt is a member of the St. Mary’s University Investment Committee, and he has previously served as a director at two TSX-listed businesses and several private companies. Matt is a CFA charterholder and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University and a Masters in Business Administration from St. Mary’s University.
Stephen Denton - Director of Investments
Stephen is Director of Investments at SeaFort Capital. He was previously Director of Research at a publicly traded investment company and prior to that worked in commercial banking at CIBC. He has previously served as a director at several private companies. Stephen is a CFA charterholder and holds Bachelor’s and Masters degrees in Business Administration from Dalhousie University. He is a member of the Phoenix Youth Programs Board of Directors, where he currently serves as Treasurer.
Tom Taylor - Manager of Finance
Tom is the Manager of Finance for SeaFort Capital. Prior to joining SeaFort, Tom worked in the freight transportation industry where his responsibilities included the design and management of financial and operational reporting. Tom has a background in accounting and information systems and he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Computing Science from St. Mary’s University and a Master’s degree in Mathematics from Dalhousie University.
Sue Marchand - Office Manager
Sue is the Office Manager for SeaFort Capital. Prior to joining SeaFort, Sue worked in the health promotion field, with a specific focus on community mental health engagement and development. Sue holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Promotion from Dalhousie University.
